July 2014 – Report Review and Design/Layout

We assisted our colleague, Leigh Caswell, of Presbyterian Healthcare by reviewing the final report for the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence (NMCNE), as well as doing the design and layout for it. The report was a strategic review of ways the nursing profession can have the greatest impact on major New Mexico health issues through planning, implementation, and evaluation. The review informs the New Mexico Action Coalition (of the NMCNE) about next steps to support and guide the nursing role in improving health outcomes in New Mexico.Cover-final-report

June 2014 – Landscape Analysis Report Development

We worked with Fourfold Partners to complete a landscape analysis report for Playworks, a national non-profit that connects recess to a positive school experience. The purpose of the report was to gain a deeper understanding of New Mexico-based organizations that have successfully established and grown programs in school settings. Playworks is using the report to determine next steps for its programs and services in New Mexico. Soda Creek assisted in all aspects of the project’s organizational research and analysis.

May 2014 – Field Research for Playworks New Mexico

We’re working in collaboration with Fourfold Partners to do organizational research for Playworks New Mexico. For the past two months we’ve been doing field research, including surveys and interviews, with non-profits and government entities.

Conducting field research is one of the many services we offer at Soda Creek. We recruit, develop and distribute surveys, develop discussion and interview guides, conduct focus groups and interviews, transcribe, and analyze findings. We’ve done this work for many clients, including National Institutes of Health, Food and Drug Administration, Hispanic Communication Network, University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center, and more.

April 2014 – Strategic Planning Facilitation for New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence

We collaborated with Leigh Caswell from Presbyterian Healthcare to co-facilitate a 4-hour discussion group with New Mexico Action Coalition committee members and key stakeholders. This was for the New Mexico Center for Nursing Excellence to solicit feedback about the findings of a series of community assessments of health needs in New Mexico with emphasis on the impact nursing can have on planning, implementation and evaluation of meeting these health needs. We received positive feedback about the day and look forward to facilitating another session at the end of the month!

We designed this training to be highly interactive and gather input through various techniques (activities, discussion, reflection, etc.).

At Soda Creek, we always incorporate the principles of adult learning into everything we design- training session, curricula, educational materials, etc.
