Lupus awareness projects

Our Role

  • Recruit community health workers / promotores de salud (CHWs) and community health representatives (CHRs) from across the country to participate in pilot studies of lupus awareness courses. Recruiting involved either recruiting individual CHWs and CHRs or organizations that utilize this model.
  • Research process for CHWs to obtain continuing education units (CEUs) for lupus courses. Review CEU certification process for three states and interview key informants in each one.

Community Health Worker Curriculum Improvement

Our Role

  • Review existing curricula created by the community health worker team and their partners
  • Develop recommendations for curricula improvement and alignment
  • Create a multi-step curriculum review process for the community health worker team to replicate as they review partner curricula
  • Facilitate working sessions with community health worker team to go through recommendations, develop a plan for next steps, and to train them to use the review tool

  • Coordinate and manage photo shoots with 10 awardees across the State of Colorado
  • Interview awardees
  • Write copy and design interactive digital report to highlight the heart of each awardee’s story in order to build awareness for the initiative
  • Design layout “tree” of offices and departments and their work related to 2Gen

Social Determinants of Health Framework

Our Role

Develop tools to help employees at the New Mexico Department of Health understand, consider, and apply the social determinants of health in their work. This framework helps employees to then develop programs, policies, and communication that work for the communities they serve. Our tools will be used with executive leaders, at employee orientation training, and at follow-on trainings.
